GEOL 305 - Secrets in Soils: A Magnetic Approach A popular preconception is that magnetic methods are only used to study changes in Earth’s magnetic field. However, the magnetic signal in soils can be used to answer a variety of questions. Various approaches can be used to describe climate change, pollutants, and to help interpret archeological sites. This course will focus on the magnetic minerals found in soils, their origins, and how to use them to uncover the secrets in soils. Prerequisite(s): GEOL 250 Offered occasionally. (4 Credits)
