Asian Studies Minor

Asian Studies Minor Requirements

(There have been significant changes to the Asian Studies minor, which are effective with the 2017-2018 catalog. For more information please consult the department chair or refer to the 2017-2018 catalog when it is published in early April.)

A minor in Asian Studies includes courses chosen in consultation with an advisor from within the program.

Requirements include:

1. Language proficiency (at levels outlined in the major section)
2.  ASIA 111 - Introduction to Asian Studies  
3. Three courses on area of focus; one on another area in Asia or on diasporic movement(s). At least one of these courses must be taken at Macalester.   (ASIA 111  does not count as one of these three required courses.)
