Chinese Language and Culture Minor

Chinese Language and Culture Minor Requirements

Students planning to minor in Chinese Language and Culture must fulfill the following requirements in consultation with an advisor from within the department:
 

1. Achieve language proficiency equivalent to level upon completion of CHIN 304 .
    
2. Complete 20 credits in China-related courses (typically 5 courses, 4 credits each). At least 2 of these courses must be content courses (linguistics, film, history, literature, art history, music history, religions, etc.), and at least one must be taken at Macalester and have the prefix of CHIN. The following language courses do not count toward the minor: CHIN 101 , CHIN 102 , CHIN 203   and CHIN 204 .
