Dance Minor

Minor Requirements

Four 4-credit courses required:

• THDA 115 - Cultures of Dance 
• THDA 121 - Beginning Dance Composition  or THDA 341 - Intermediate Dance Composition 
• THDA 215 - Reading the Dancing Body: Topics in Dance History  or THDA 250 - Experiential Anatomy and the Mind Body Connection 
• One 4-credit course from the following: THDA 125 - Technical Theater  or THDA 215 - Reading the Dancing Body: Topics in Dance History  or THDA 230 - Physical Approaches  or THDA 250 - Experiential Anatomy and the Mind Body Connection 

Eight 1-credit courses required:

• THDA 31 - Dance Improvisation 
• THDA 41 - Modern Dance I  or THDA 42 - Modern Dance II  or THDA 43 - Modern Dance III  or THDA 45 - Modern Dance IV 
• Three 1-credit practicums from 75 through 79, one of which must be either 76 or 77: THDA 75 - Practicum in Performance ; THDA 76 - Practicum in Scenery/Lighting/Costume Construction ; THDA 77 - Practicum in Production Running Crew ; THDA 78 - Practicum in Advanced Production Techniques ; THDA 79 - Practicum in Choreography 

Three from the following:

• Any technique class (Modern, Ballet, African, Improvisation) and/or dance practicum (THDA 75  or THDA 79 )

Note: practicums and technique classes may be repeated for credit
