Cross-Listed as MUSI 280This course provides an interdisciplinary introduction to Uyghur history, culture, and the arts. It examines Uyghur literature, society, music, and language in their Central Asian, Turkic, Islamic and modern Chinese contexts. Course materials offer critical perspectives on minoritized identities, cultural representation, state suppression, and forms of resistance and resilience. Alternate years (4 Credits)
