THDA 115 - Cultures of Dance

This course will introduce you to dance forms from around the world. We will investigate a variety of forms and their cultural contexts through attendance at concerts, films, class discussions, readings, group research projects and movement activities. We will examine how dance functions in the lives of individuals and societies through various lenses including feminist, ethnographic, and africanist perspectives. We will move. (4 Credits)
